This week has been extremely packed so far – so much work to do, yet running low on time…
So here’s the last part of our Berlin trip which includes my favourite building: the Berlin Cathedral. When I saw it first, I couldn’t believe it’s a protestant church since the architecture with it’s baroque ornamental style resembles Catholic churches way more than the epitome of a protestant church. (My favourite churches, by the way, are white, purist Pietist ones.) Unfortunately, we didn’t make it inside since the queue was too long. Perhaps next time!
Architecturewise, I also enjoyed our visit on Berlin’s Museum Island a lot. So many gorgeous, monumental buildings at one go. I’d definitely love to go back to the museums’s quarter soon – although Berlin and I haven’t become best friends in general so far.
(P.S.: Ragnar Kjartansson is one of Óskar’s and my favourite Icelandic artists. So great to see how many different projects he’s been developing in Berlin during the last year.)
