My Icelandic Playlist
One of the best things to do in life is listening to music and to indulge in affective sensations.
At least I think so. Especially during the cold season.
My favourite type of music is a mix of indie, singer-songwriter and light rock.
But it’s not only the affective dimension of music that catches me. First and foremost, I would call myself a text fetishist. I simply love sad, slightly enigmatic lyrics and narrative songs that are formally unpredictable. Faced reversely: I don’t like repetitive elements such as choruses or way too symmetrical song structures. Dauntless play with monotony is fine though.
Here’s my current collection of favourite Icelandic singers and bands that have touched me deeply:
P.S.: I’ve been to concerts by – among others – Valdimar and Agent Fresco lately. To see them playing live is spherical!
